Nature's Diet

Everyone knows that fresh, unprocessed, natural food is best when it comes to our own diet. So why should it be any different for our canine companions?

The popularity and convenience of commercial dog food means we've grown accustomed to feeding our dogs a diet of dried kibble, canned food or some variation of the two. We're promised, through clever marketing, that this highly-processed diet of rendered by-products, grains and additives is not just suitable for our dogs, but that it will give them a healthier, happier and longer life. What's not to love?

As it turns out, a lot.

The advent of modern commercial dog food has brought with it a rise in canine diseases including diabetes, dermatitis, various cancers, allergies and digestive problems. Aside from poor quality ingredients, one of the biggest issues with commercial dog food is the way it's processed, which often involves high heat and high pressure. This not only destroys important nutrients, vitamins and minerals making the food less digestible and less beneficial for your pup, but in some cases, this process can even cause a chemical reaction making the food toxic.

The prevalence of food-related illnesses is what makes us so passionate about dog nutrition. We truly believe that for optimal health, a dog's diet should be as natural as possible.

And to determine exactly what that is, we need to go back to the origin, the wolf.

Your dog is actually a direct descendent of the grey wolf. Despite the fact that the domesticated dog's external appearance and temperament has been changed through human intervention, a dog's physiology remains largely unchanged. Just like wolves, dogs are designed to eat a natural diet of raw meat, organs and bones. Unprocessed, uncooked, unaltered.

Nature has already provided canines with a diet which has allowed them to thrive for millions of years, why change it?

The benefits of raw

We believe that when it comes to feeding your dog in the healthiest, most natural way possible, nothing beats raw.

Already well-documented by raw feeders across the world, these are just some of the benefits that we've experienced with our own pack since we made the switch to feeding them raw:

  • Increased energy and stamina
  • Stronger immune system
  • Reduced food allergies and intolerance
  • Improved digestion
  • Healthier skin and coat
  • Leaner body mass
  • Improved breath and teeth
  • Reduced stool volume and odour

Our range of Bites and Chewies are designed to help you transform your dog's diet by bringing it closer to what canines eat in the wild - raw, unprocessed and species appropriate. Our all-natural treats are a convenient and tasty way to supplement your pup's diet, helping him meet his nutritional needs.

the Magic of Freeze-Drying

Here at AsliPup we're lucky enough to be able to use an amazing technology called freeze-drying in our very own home. This gives us control of the entire production process from beginning to end and allows us to create our unique range of homemade, freeze-dried Bites.

The magic of freeze-drying means that whilst our Bites are dry, having had all of their water removed through the freeze-dry process, they are still raw. Easily rehydrated if you want to reward your pup with fresh meat, our treats are just as healthy and nutritious when served straight out of the pack. Wet or dry, our freeze-dried Bites retain up to 98% of their nutritional value as well as flavour, texture (when rehydrated) and colour making them the best choice for rewarding your pup. All of this without a single preservative or additive!

Our guarantee

We work hard to ensure that our range of raw, single-ingredient Bites and Chewies contains nothing but fresh, human-grade meat and fish. By working closely with local vendors to select the best ingredients we can guarantee that your pup will benefit from the most nutritious cuts. We then prep the meat ourselves before freeze-drying (Bites) or gently air-drying (Chewies) the treats in small batches at home. Finally, we check every treat by hand before packaging them for your pup to enjoy.
